Aluminum-Silicon Master Alloy
Highland Materials was founded as a company to produce poly silicon, though today we handle just as much aluminum in our factory as we do silicon.
Our aluminum-silicon master alloys provide increased strength, weight reduction and manufacturability to fuel a number of major industries, including automotive, aerospace and building materials.
Silicon is the single most important ingredient among aluminum casting alloys, and acts as a hardener, grain refiner or modifier. This low-iron material is used as a feedstock to produce many of the most commonly sold and traded casting alloys, such as A356, A380, A413, F132, DIN226 and ADC12.
