Poysilicon manufacturing can be one of the most environmentally hazardous production processes in the energy industry, particularly in the PV value chain. The Siemens and FBR processes require a large amount of volatile chemicals and gases.  By contrast, Highland’s process requires no handling of hazardous chemicals, improving safety for both the workers and the surrounding environment. In addition, our process has a much smaller footprint than other silicon purification methods not only in land required, but particularly carbon output and other greenhouse gas emissions, all without compromising product performance.
